Preparing for Bariatric Surgery: Understanding the Psychological Evaluation
At Dyer Psychology, we’re here to support you in fully understanding the impact of bariatric surgery on your life. Weight-loss surgery involves significant lifestyle changes, and your long-term success depends on your physical, mental, and emotional readiness for this journey.
Most surgeons and insurance providers require a pre-surgical psychological evaluation to ensure you are prepared for the challenges and rewards of bariatric surgery. This evaluation is designed to assess your understanding of the procedure, the potential risks, and the lifestyle adjustments required for sustainable weight loss. Simply put, we want to ensure you feel confident and informed every step of the way.
Your evaluation is personalized to address your unique needs and circumstances. By gathering this information, we can provide valuable insights and recommendations to help set you up for success, both during and after surgery.
At Dyer Psychology, our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and support you need for a healthier, more fulfilling life.
