The Founder

Dr. Dyer is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in health and performance psychology, behavioral medicine, and psychological assessment. His background spans public health systems, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and private practice — giving him a clinical range that is difficult to find in a single provider.

He works from an insight-oriented, psychodynamic foundation, drawing on behavioral medicine principles where relevant. His approach is collaborative and direct. He does not treat symptoms in isolation — he works with the person whose symptoms they are.

Dyer Psychology is a private psychology practice founded by Dr. Vincent Dyer in Houston, Texas. The practice offers individual therapy, psychological evaluations, and group therapy for adults — in person in Houston and via telehealth across more than 40 states through PSYPACT licensure.

This is not a high-volume practice. Dr. Dyer works with a small number of patients at a time, and the work is substantive. Sessions are not structured around symptom checklists or standardized protocols. They are built around the person in the room — their history, their patterns, the gap between where they are and where they want to be.

The patients who tend to work well here are adults who take their psychological health seriously. They may be navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, a major life transition, or a persistent sense that something is out of alignment — and they want a clinician with the depth and experience to work at that level. If that describes you, this may be worth a conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if this is a good fit?

A 15-minute phone consultation is the right starting point. It gives you a chance to ask questions and gives Dr. Dyer a chance to understand what you’re looking for. There’s no pressure and no obligation. If it’s not the right fit, he’ll tell you — and where possible, point you toward someone who is.

Dyer Psychology is a private-pay practice. Sessions are not billed through insurance. Upon request, a superbill can be provided for patients who wish to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. Many patients with PPO plans receive partial reimbursement — it’s worth calling your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

$225 per 50-minute individual session. Evaluation and group therapy fees vary and are discussed during the initial consultation.
