Psychological Evaluations
Dyer Psychology offers comprehensive psychological evaluations for adults — including diagnostic assessments, ADHD and cognitive evaluations, personality assessment, and disability evaluations for veterans and civilians. Evaluations are thorough, clinically substantive, and written for both the patient and any referring provider.
Dr. Dyer conducts evaluations in person in Houston and via telehealth where clinically appropriate. Reports are typically completed within one to two weeks of the final session and include clear diagnostic impressions and actionable recommendations.
If you have been referred for an evaluation, or are seeking one on your own, a brief phone consultation is the right starting point.
- What we do
Dyer Psychology is a private practice. Dr. Dyer works with a small number of patients at a time, and the work is substantive. Evaluations are not templated or rushed — they are built around the specific referral question, the individual’s history, and the clinical picture that emerges through the process.
The patients and providers who work well here are those who want more than a checkbox result. Whether you are a self-referring adult seeking clarity, a physician who needs objective psychological data to inform a clinical decision, or an attorney or agency requiring formal documentation, the reports produced here are written to be genuinely useful — clear diagnostic impressions, specific recommendations, and findings that hold up to scrutiny.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do referring physicians and surgeons submit a referral?
Referrals can be submitted by calling the office directly at (346) 504-0129 or through the contact form on this site. A brief phone consultation is typically the fastest way to confirm fit, discuss the referral question, and determine the appropriate evaluation type. Reports are returned within one to two weeks of the final session and are written to be useful to the referring provider — clear diagnostic impressions, specific findings, and actionable recommendations.
Who typically seeks a psychological evaluation?
Adults who are referred by a physician, psychiatrist, or attorney — as well as those who seek an evaluation on their own. Common reasons include suspected ADHD, diagnostic uncertainty, a need for objective psychological data before a major medical or legal decision, or a disability claim requiring formal documentation.
What does the evaluation process involve?
Most evaluations involve a clinical interview, a review of relevant records, and a battery of standardized psychological tests. The specific tools used depend on the referral question and the scope of the evaluation. The process typically spans one to two sessions, with a written report to follow.
How long does it take to receive the report?
Reports are typically completed within one to two weeks of the final evaluation session. The report includes diagnostic impressions, relevant clinical history, test findings, and specific recommendations for the patient and any referring provider.
Are evaluation results confidential?
Yes. All information gathered during the evaluation is confidential. Results are shared only with you and, with your written consent, with any referring provider or third party — such as an attorney, employer, or government agency where applicable.
Do you conduct disability evaluations for veterans?
Yes. Dr. Dyer is contracted with Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) and conducts disability benefit questionnaire evaluations for veterans. He is also in the process of expanding to additional VA contractor relationships. If you are a veteran seeking a disability evaluation, contact the office to determine the appropriate referral pathway.
What are the fees for a psychological evaluation?
Evaluation fees vary depending on the type and scope of the evaluation. Fees are discussed during the initial consultation. Dyer Psychology is a private-pay practice — evaluations are not billed through insurance, though a superbill can be provided upon request.
